National Selfie Day 2018

Randy, Ethan and I all went to dinner today and while we were there I told them that it is national selfie day and that we should take a photo. Let me just tell you my boys do not always enjoy taking photos. They even told me that a selfie is not with a group, it is with a single person so I needed to take the photo with just me in it! Yes

That got me to think… is that true? I just figure if the phone is facing in front of you and you are taking a photo of you and others then it’s a selfie! I decided to look it up to get the proper definition and this is what I found on dictionary.com: a photograph taken with a smartphone or other digital camera by a person who is also in the photograph, especially for posting on a social media website.

So, it doesn’t tell you how many people! Oh dear! What do you think?

Since the boys didn’t let me take a photo I grouped together some of my favorite selfies!

Don’t forget to follow my blog and I would love to hear from you so comment away.❤️

What we did on Sunday.

This past Sunday was Father’s Day. My husband and I woke up and went over to my parents house and gave my dad a card and special light bulbs that he can use with the Alexa that will turn on and off after you ask it to.

Next we met up with my sister, Kim, her husband, Joe and their kids Logan and Owen. We met at Gus’s Pretzels which is a St. Louis pretzel shop. It is delicious! They also have windows where you can see the workers making the pretzels too. Logan had me hold him up so that he could see many times. Everyone enjoyed their pretzels!

After we were finished at Gus’s we went to Anheuser Busch and did a brewery tour. Our tour guide was great! She made jokes and just had fun with us. We even got to see a few stallion horses! Logan figured out that one of the horses names was Lloyd! He even got to hold one of the horse shoe! It was super big compared to normal size horses! We toured around most of the place and then at the end spent some time at the museum that they have. The very last thing we did was take the bus back to the beginning and Logan was so very excited about this part. He literally grabbed my hand and yelled out mom/dad we are going to the bus to ride it now! Once we were on the bus he was clapping his hands and was telling everyone how excited he was. I was lucky enough to get some photos with him on it and he had one big smile!

Everyone 21 years and older got free samples of beer multiple times and also a chip to use at the end of the tour to use at the resterount. I dont drink beer, so I gave mine to my dad! Lets just say he was feeling pretty good by the end!

Once we were finished there we went to Hodak’s for dinner and then Ted Drews for desert! Ted Drew’s is famous in St. Louis for there frozen custard. The lines are long, but they go fast and with worth every bit of it! It was yummy in my tummy!

It was so much fun spending time with family. Thanks for reading!

Father’s Day!

Happy Father’s Day to all the Fathers out there!

Ethan is so lucky to have so many amazing adult male figures in his life!

First, I would like to say thank you to his biological dad. We are now at a 50/50 custody agreement and I think it has worked wonders for everyone’s relationship. Thanks for everything you do for Ethan! I know Ethan looks up to you very much!

Second and my most favorite bond that Ethan has is with my husband, Randy. Randy and I have been together since 2014. So, over the last 4 years Ethan and Randy have really gotten to know each other and have built a relationship that I never knew would happen. I am forever grateful for Randy and how much his life changed when met. Randy went from being single, to a relationship with me and then a father figure to Ethan when he is at our house. I am sure it didn’t take much thinking because Ethan and I are pretty awesome, but I am well aware of the fact that he didn’t have to.  There are days when Ethan and Randy get to be by themselves and they call them bro-days! How stinkin cute is that!

Ethan and Randy can now gain up on me and say boys against girls and boys rule. At one point in my life I never thought I would have that and while sometimes it drives me crazy when they do it.. I wouldn’t change it for the world!

Randy doesn’t talk much about his father since he pass before I knew him, but I am sure his dad would be proud of the person Randy is today. Sometimes Randy will say things like how these cookies used to be his dad’s favorite and I enjoy hearing those stories from him. It makes me feel connected to him and like he can tell me anything.

Ethan still has both sets of grandparents on both sides and I believe that they need the acknowledge because they are both there for Ethan when needed. Thank you to both of you.

As you can tell when I think of Father it is not always the biological father it is all male figures in my sons life.

For Father’s Day Ethan will be with his dad and I hope they have a wonderful day and we will celebrate Randy and Ethan’s relationship when he comes back to our house.

On Father’s Day our plan is to spend time with my mom, dad, sister, sisters husband and their two kids. We are going to a brewery tour and Gus’s pretzels.

Something New

Hello everyone! It has been a very long time since I have made a blog post because I mainly set it up for my Clever Container business and I am no longer selling! With that being said, I enjoyed writing and sharing my personal insights on the blog. I have decide that I will continue to write, but make it more personal and about me.

Now, you might ask yourself… why would I want to read that?! Well, I will tell you why. The very most important reason is because I am freakin awesome! I plan on keeping it real and telling you about my journey as a mother, being an awesome wife, full time medical assistant and someone that wants to continue to grow and explore!

I am mainly going to write because I have considered writing a book about a certain subject which we can get into at another time, but I honestly have no idea where to start, so as we all say: practice makes perfect!

My plan is to post this blog and update everyone on the change of subject and then I will write more. You are welcome to ask questions and ask for certain subjects if you want. My only objection is I will not tell you about what I want to write my book about until later, still working about the idea of writing a blog frequently to get better first!

During the summer time our son, Ethan spends a week with his dad’s side of the family and then spends a week with us. Hopefully I will be able to write weekly, if not, more during the summer.

As always, thank you for reading and leave a comment or suggestion, if you like.

Thanks!

Day After Christmas

The day after Christmas is a popular time to go shopping! I have gone some times, but not others. This year I did not, but my company Clever Container is holding a 20% off everything sale! That even includes the sale items! What an awesome price on some products! Which one is your favorite?

Turkey Trot

During the month of November I do an incentive called the Turkey Trot! I get 5 participates and then I mail out a catalogs and order forms and let them take it to family and friends over Thanksgiving break. They must collect at least $2000 in orders by November 27. Each person will received $20 in free products along with a half price item and 10% off the order as long as they get $200 in orders. It is just like hosting a party, but not having to clean or prepare that much! What a wonderful idea!!!

What are you doing for Thanksgiving? Normally we go to Oklahoma and visit my mom’s side of the family, but this year we will not be. My sister is pregnant and has her c-section for this Friday! So, we will be spending time with the family here locally since they will have a newborn. Randy, Ethan and I cannot wait to meet Owen!

This year Ethan, my son, wants to be able to help cook and so we plan on having it over at my parents house so that he can do that. We shall see how it works out, it is only a few weeks away.

Thanks for reading and have a good day!

Facebook

OHH the good ol’ Facebook! Facebook has grown to a whole new level for me since I have started with Clever Container! I am able to market and sell on it! I enjoy getting to know other like-minded people that also sell! I belong to many different groups and I will tell you about some of my favorites!
My most favorites are obviously the ones that I own and that is my Jessica’s Clever Container and Clever Possibilities with Jessica.

I also help admin Direct Sales Community with Charli. She is my go to gal! I enjoy talking and connecting with her all the time! We talked daily! In that group we post three times a day and interact with each other daily! The first post is called our theme post which is like Motivation Monday, our second post is called our featured topic which is information to help better your direct sales and the last post is a question of the day. Questions can be related to direct sales or it could be just a simple question like whats your favorite color. Just something to get group members to talk to each other and make real connections. To be successful you need to make connections with people and act like they are a human and have feelings. All of that will help your business grow!
https://m.facebook.com/groups/255267954893405

My other favorite group is Direct Sales Community Book Club. We pick a book that will help with the business read it and post question/comments about each chapter. When posting the questions it helps to interact with each other and see what others also though of the book. The first book we read was called GoPro and we are onto our second book now. When this group was finished talked about I decided that I would buy each book and write my name in to book and share with my team. I figured that is something that not everyone does and would be fun to get in the mail. Then everyone can sign their name in the book and I can know who still needs to read it and it would be fun to see who all gets to.

As you know face book as many groups the ones listed above are the ones I enjoy for my business. The ones I enjoy going to for myself and not business related are the St. Louis Blues Lounge and mommy to mommy groups.

What are some of your favorite groups?

Opportunity

Have you ever heard when one door closes another one opens? Well that is a common saying around here and while I do believe that (I guess)… I do not believe that a door has to close for you to start something new! Life gives you opportunities daily, it’s whether you act on them or not.

One super awesome thing about Clever Container is that they give opportunity calls and they do that in multiple different ways and times. There is a conference call (which is free) and sometimes a Facebook event that people can follow along and answer some common questions. Like, What would you do with an extra $500 a month? These calls are always no pressure! We want you to feel comfortable! That is why it is called an opportunity call.

When you have a company that will work together and help you build your business it helps you learn more and helps you remember what to say when people ask you about your company. It also shows that the company wants you to grow and they will help you build your business into whatevever you want. You have multiple choices hobby, part time, full time- what ever you want!

I will share a video with you from the Clever Container YouTube about joining!  https://youtu.be/deDB0LEcW8s

I personally want to grow my business and build a team. Those that can come to me and ask questions and I can help them. I want to be someone that someone looks up to and say, WOW if she can do it so can I!

Please, if you have any questions at all reach out and ask I would be happy to answer any of them!
As always, thank you for reading!

Appreciation

Appreciation can be expressed by many ways! We did an appreciation event with a few local vendors this past Summer. We had lots of preparation beforehand and also learned how we can improve for next year.

First, in preparation we decided that each vendor that was participating will bring a give a way and we would do a raffle for it and let the customer choose what they would like. How you got to enter the raffle was by coming, seeing each vendor, filling out a customer card, and/or placing an order.

We had BBQ food and drinks for everyone that came and large games for the children to play with. Each vendor invited the customers that they wanted to show their appreciation too. We did a few zoom calls to make sure that everyone was participating and getting something out of it.

The weather showed that it would most likely rain throughout our event, but we were hopeful and we still kept it on. Fortunately it did not and it was a super nice day. The location was perfect we had a pavilion, lake view, and beautiful weather!

Everyone that came ate, checked out most vendors and had a good time. I did not hear anything negative at all.
Each vendor had their own space set up and I made it a point to go to each one to see what they had to offer and enjoyed meeting a gaining friendships with each and everyone!

I am excited to plan this as an annual event!

Thank you for taking the time to read and have a good day!

October- Breast Cancer

October’s special is all about Breast Cancer! You can get the mesh desktop organizer in pink for four dollars with a fifty dollar purchase and/or you can get a pink mesh file holder for five dollars with a hundred dollar purchase!

Breast cancer is something close to my heart. My mother was diagnosed with it and since treatment has been doing well. I will never forget the day that she told me and how she worked her hardest to do both her job and treatment at the same time. She makes me proud every time I think about it! She is now considered a survivor!

When you buy a pink product from Clever Container (not the consultant, the actually company) donates a dollar! I have never worked for a company that actually donates and I am very honored to work for this company and be able to tell everyone about it! We have items that you can pick from that are called our “pick pink”. Those items include clever shopper ($19), File Folders (set of 9- $14), Stuff it ($17), S-Curve Hanger ($8), and Packing Cubes (small $12, medium $14 and large $16) All of the items are pink in Color.

Thank you for taking the time to read about this months special and my comments on it.
